The reasons to write and read literature are certainly varied. But the writer Amos Oz summarized the essence of them all in a formulation that speaks a great deal of what we share in the literary experience: "people read books basically for two reasons - to visit a place where they've never been or to return to a place they've visited before". The workshop invites its participants to explore together the fine line between the realism that describes the familiar world and the magic realism that recreates it. By reading selected fragments of writers from different cultures, who combine these two perspectives of writing, the idea is to open oneself to the possibility of playing with them, focusing the human relations under a new light and performing exercises that try to build a world in which the plot and the characters are half a meter above the ground.
